Irvingia gabonensis is the scientific term for African mango. In fact, the 2 terms are almost completely interchangable.
Irvingia gabonensis has been around for years. In fact, Irvingia is an extract that comes from an African mango fruit the grows in Cameroon.

- The benefits of fiber supplementation: Irvingia is a water-soluble fiber.
Aside from those benefits, there are also brand-specific African mango benefits.
For example, one of the more popular brands of Irvingia gabonensis/African mango is called African Mango Plus. In addition to the 150mg of African Mango extract (which is basically Irvingia gabonensis) you get in each capsule, here are some additional ingredients:
- You get 225mg of green tea leaf extract. You probably know that green tea also helps with weight loss.
- EGCG is a potent antioxidant. On the ingredients label of African Mango Plus, you get 135mg. It’s indented under green tea leaf extract, so it might be part of the 225mg of green tea.
- Caffeine is another ingredient. Now, if you’re sensitive to caffeine, or you want to avoid it, that’s fine: there are other brands of African mango that don’t have caffeine.
However, if you like caffeine, the addition of caffeine in African Mango Plus will be great for you.
In fact, I recommend that, if you want to lose as much weight as possible, you do this:
When you wake up in the morning, take one pill of African Mango Plus (and drink some water, if you want).
Then do a cardio workout on an empty stomach.
I know that not everyone’s the same, but I think that, if you haven’t done so before, you should try working out first thing in the morning. Because you haven’t eaten yet, your body will more easily tap into it’s fat stores. Plus, the caffeine you get from the Plus brand will amplify your fat burning efforts.
That, along with a mild to intense cardio workout, is one of the best tips I can give you.
Actually, you know what’s probably more important than exercising to lose weight?
Diet. Of course, you should eat a healthy diet that lets your body burn fat. If you don’t feel like exercising, that’s fine. Start with diet and Irvingia gabonensis supplementation. Then, over time, you’ll start to lose weight, feel better, and have more energy.
Then, use the exercise tip I just gave you. It’ll really help you to accelerate your fat-burning.
